In protest against the Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board the Teerth Purohits and the state holders held a march towards the state’s secretariat on Saturday. On the day a large number of Teerth Purohits and their sympathisers assembled at Gandhi Park. They then started a protest march towards the state secretariat however a contingent of policemen stopped them at Subhash Road. On being stopped the agitated Teerth Purohits shouted slogans against the government and demanded immediate repeal of the Devasthanam board.  Minor scuffle between the police and the agitators occurred when some of them tried to scale over the barricades and push the police personnel.

The spokesperson of Teerth Purohit and stakeholders Maha Panchayat Brijesh Sati said that the Devasthanam board has completed two years on 27 November and to express their anger on it the Mahapanchayat has organised a black day. He said that the state government should take back the Devasthanam board and added that the protest of the Teerth Purohits would continue till the government accepts their demands. The march was led by the president of Kedar Sabha and vice president of Mahapanchayat Vinod Shukla.
