Covid protocol to be followed in assembly polls- CEO

The chief electoral officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand, Sowjanya has said that Covid protocol would be strictly followed in the entire election process. She said that the media plays an important part in the free and fair conduction of elections. She was addressing a workshop organised for the media here on Wednesday.
The CEO Uttarakhand said that a revision of the electoral rolls -2022 has been completed and soon the commission would publish the rolls. She said that the commission has received 3.99 lakh new registrations this time. Informing about a new initiative she said that postal ballot facility would be provided to senior citizens who are more than 80 years old and physically challenged individuals.
The Director General (DG) of Information Ranvir Singh Chauhan said that a system for smooth sharing of information with media should be created.
The professor of Mass Communication at Graphic Era University Subhash Gupta gave a presentation on paid news on the occasion.
The nodal officer media ( election) Nitin Upadhyaya informed about the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) and other guidelines of the election commission in his presentation. Many journalists, deputy director of information Ravi Bijarnia and others were present on the occasion.
