Seemingly embarrassed over the letter purportedly issued by one of his Public Relations Officers (PROs) in which he had asked the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bageshwar to release four trucks filled with mineral which the police had confiscated, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has suspended his PRO Nandan Singh Bisht. He has also directed that a probe should be conducted in the case and assured that strict action would be taken against those involved in the issue.
On Friday the deputy leader of Congress legislature party Karan Mahra raised the issue in the assembly and said that a letter written by PRO of CM has gone viral in which SP is being directed to release trucks laden with minerals. He linked it with the law and order situation in the state. When inquired, the SP of Bageshwar Amit Srivastava said that the truck owners have deposited a penalty of Rs 40,000 and clarified that the trucks were penalized for overloading.
