A programme to commemorate the 137th foundation day of the Congress party was organised at the state headquarters of the party on Tuesday. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Ganesh Godiyal hoisted the flag of the party in the programme. Speaking on the occasion he said that Congress party has always worked for upliftment of poor and downtrodden sections of the society. He said that the party has followed the principle of ‘ Swarwa Dharam Sadhbhav and secularism and worked for strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation. The PCC President highlighted the role played by the party and its leaders in freedom struggle. He said that those talking about a Congress Mukt Bharat should not forget that the Congress was instrumental in getting the freedom of the country and also laid the foundation of the development of the nation after independence. Godiyal exhorted the party workers to work unitedly to ensure that Congress government is formed in the state in the election of 2022.
The former minister Hira Singh Bisht, former MLA Jot Singh Gunsola, P S Chauhan, M D Joshi, R P Raturi, Garima Dasauni and others were present on the occasion.
