Even as the cases of the Covid -19 are increasing at an alarming rate with each passing day the state health department has not shed its lethargy. The department has not increased the number of testing for the disease even as the cases have increased seven fold in the last seven days. The founder of the Social Development for Communities (SDC) foundation Anoop Nautiyal said that on January 1 the state had 118 cases of Covid-19 which has jumped to 814 on January 7 but the number of tests is still around 15000 per day. He said that the authorities should increase the pace of testing in view of the prevailing condition of the pandemic.
