The state health department reported the death of eight patients from novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. A total of 772 new cases of the disease and recovery of 3,257 patients were reported by the department on the day.
The state health department has so far detected 85,848 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 73,236 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 210 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 82.31 per cent while the positivity rate was at 3.21 per cent on Tuesday.
The health department reported 285 new patients from Dehradun, 111 from Haridwar, 90 from Almora, 62 from Nainital, 51 from Udham Singh Nagar, 42 from Pauri, 29 from Chamoli, 28 from Uttarkashi, 19 from Rudraprayag, 18 from Pithoragarh, 16 from Tehri and three from Bageshwar on Tuesday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 9,710. Dehradun with 4,796 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 1,637 active cases of the disease which is followed by Haridwar district with 506 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 70 active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 79,233 people were vaccinated in 1,377 sessions in the state held on Tuesday.
