BJP’s Tehri candidate stresses on need for returning to traditional ways for good health

While Congress leader Harish Rawat was seen serving Aloo Tikkis to guests at a marriage function in Lalkuan on Thursday, the former Pradesh Congress Committee president and current Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Tehri, Kishore Upadhyaya participated in cooking at a marriage function in Chamba area of Tehri district. Upadhyaya had come to attend a marriage function in Pangarkhal village of Chamba block on Thursday night. He met the people and during this time at the venue joined in the preparation of marriage dishes much to the astonishment of the people gathered there.
He entered the area where Urad Dal Pakodas were being fried near the wedding venue and asked the people if he could also lend his hand in frying Urad Dal Pakodas. The hosts readily agreed and after that, he started frying Pakodas for the guests, surprising all attending the marriage function.
Upadhyaya said that Pakodas of Urad Dal are considered very auspicious and to mark the occasion he made a small contribution. “We have to go back to our roots and we have to pay attention to our forefathers’ lifestyle, diet, behaviour and the traditions followed by them. To stay healthy, we have to adopt the traditional lifestyle and should stay away from fast food, pizza, burgers, cold drinks and such items while increasing the amount of milk, curd, buttermilk, ghee in our regular diet,” he added.
