CM Dhami reviews preparations for Purnagiri fair

The chief minister Puskhar Singh Dhami visited Tanakpur in Champawat district on Monday and reviewed the preparations for the famous Purnagiri Fair. The CM presided over a meeting of officials of all the departments at the Tehsil auditorium of Tanakpur on the day. In the meeting he directed the officials to ensure that the pilgrims face no problem during the Fair. Emphasising on proper drinking water and sanitation facilities, the CM said that the pilgrims should go back to their homes with good experiences. He said that the officials should keep an eye on prices of edible items and other things during the Fair and take steps to prevent over pricing.
It is expected that after a period of two years when the pandemic of Covid-19 affected it the pilgrims would throng the famous festival this time. The Purnagiri fair is organised during Chaitra Navratri every year in Tanakpur town. It is said to be one of the biggest fairs in entire northern India.
