The old paintings on the walls of the historic Darbar Sahib which were fading have received a facelift as they have been refilled with natural colours. On the initiative of the Mahant Devendra Das the work on restoration of these old paintings has been done.
A special team of artists was working from the last few months to restore, safe keep, conserve, and colour the ancient art works (bhitti chitra) at Darbar Sahib.
The devotees arriving in Dehradun to participate in the historic Jhanda Fair this time will witness the restoration work of these paintings.
A special cover has been put over these paintings so that they can be protected from the adverse effects of water, dust, pollution and sunlight.
