CM visits Kedarnath, inspects reconstruction, reviews Yatra preparations
Offers prayers at Kalimath, makes various announcements for Kedarnath constituency

The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the ongoing reconstruction works at Kedarnath temple and nearby areas on Tuesday. He also reviewed the preparations being made for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra.
After the inspection he visited the Kalimath temple and offered prayers. A programme was held on the occasion in which the local public representatives and locals welcomed the CM with garlands.
Speaking on the occasion the CM said the BJP government is giving an impetus to the developmental activities of the state with complete transparency. He said that the development works are being undertaken as per his declarations. Seeking public participation in the developmental works, Dhami said that he is continuously monitoring the development activities in Kedarnath. He said that a new work culture has evolved in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which is inspiring everyone. Dhami said that as per his promise the new government has initiated the process of implementation of Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand. He said that every part of the state is being linked with the Bharat Mala project and work on the Rishikesh- Karnprayag rail is being undertaken at a fast pace. He said that the upcoming Char Dham Yatra is expected to be historical in terms of people attending it this year. He added that tourism is the mainstay of the livelihood for the state and everyone gets benefited by the tourism.
The CM made many announcements on the occasion which included upgradation of Shaheed Ram Singh School from the next session, construction of building for Kotma schools and initiation of BSc classes in Vidyapeeth degree college on the occasion. He also declared construction of some roads in the area.
The Kedarnath MLA Shaila Rani Rawat welcomed the CM and informed him about the problems of the people of the area. She said that the people of Kedarnath have suffered the consequences of the disaster and requested that locals should be given priority in Yatra.
The district panchayat president Amardei Shah, Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary, president Kedarnath Nagar Panchayat Dev Prakash Semwal and others were present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is proposed to visit Kedarnath during May though the schedule for his visit has not been officially confirmed yet.
