CM and Health minister take meeting of senior officers at secretariat on controlling spread of Covid

The Uttarakhand government has become alert following rising number of Covid-19 cases in different parts of the country and the provisional capital of state, Dehradun. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the officers to ensure that the Covid appropriate behaviour is strictly followed for effective control over the pandemic of Covid-19 in the state. He emphasised that apart from social and economic activities we should keep control over the Covid-19.

The CM and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat virtually attended the meeting of CMs of the country addressed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier during the day. After the meeting the CM held interactions with the senior officers of administration at the state secretariat on Covid-19 control. The CM directed the officers to undertake an audit of fire safety measures in all the hospitals of the state. He said that in view of the expected next wave of the pandemic, all arrangements in the hospitals of the state should be taken. Dhami said that the hospitals should have adequate manpower and the focus of the department should be on ‘test, track and treat’.

He stressed the need for increasing the pace of vaccination in the state. Dhami said the vaccination of children between 12 to 14 years should be expedited and an awareness campaign for the vaccination should be undertaken in the state.

The chief secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, secretary Radhika Jha, additional secretary Sonika, Durgesh Pant and the officers of the health department attended the meeting.
