Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ritu Khanduri said that the contribution of the daughters of India in building the nation can not be forgotten. Speaking at a Beti Bachao Beti Padhao function at government inter college at Kotdwar in Pauri district on Thursday, she said that women are progressing in the fields of education, science, business, agriculture, technology, politics and other spheres.
The Assembly speaker also distributed 40 Kishori kits and 33 Vashnavi kits of the Child Development department. She also did the Annaprashan of four infants by feeding them kheer on the occasion. “Today the daughters of India are showing their abilty in the social, economic and political fields,” she said. Khanduri further said that the government wants to further improve the sex ratio. Block education officer Abhishek Shukla, school principal Jagmohan Singh Rawat, Child Development officer Vadbundhar Rawat and others were also present on the occasion.
