Polytechnic students caught with stolen bike

Two polytechnic students were arrested by the Srinagar police while riding a stolen motorcycle. Both are students of polytechnic in Jakholi and residents of Rudraprayag district.
According to the police, Badrish Prasad, a resident of Badiyargarh, Kirtinagar (Tehri) had lodged an FIR in Srinagar police station regarding a motorcycle UK 09- B-3173 being stolen.The Srinagar police registered a case against unknown under section 379 of Indian Penal Code. On the instruction of Senior Superintendent of Police Yashwant Singh Chauhan, a police team was constituted under inspector in-charge of Srinagar police station, Hari Omraj Chauhan to crack this case. The police team acted on a tip off and arrested Yogesh (20) alias Yogi and Abhishek (22) alias Bobby with the stolen motorcycle about three kilometres ahead of Kalyasaur near Goa beach. The arrested accused on being questioned told the police that they had come to meet their friend. While returning at night, they had stolen a motorcycle by breaking its steering lock near Devalgarh. They brought the stolen bike to Jakholi from their room in Tilwara. After a few days they altered the appearance of the motorcycle and threw the number plate in a river. They had come to meet their friend in Srinagar when they were caught by the police. The arrested accused were to be produced in the court.
