Claiming unexpected results in Champawat assembly by election, the Uttarakhand Congress has said that the Congress candidate Nirmala Gehtodi would register a landslide victory in the election. The media in charge of state Congress Rajiv Mehrishi said on Tuesday that the BJP government has done nothing in the last five years in Champawat and would not do anything in future also. He said that the chief minister Puskhar Singh Dhami is only engaged in making promises to sway the people of the Champawat. Mehrishi said that Champawat would throw unexpected results as people of the state have got fed up with the falsehoods of BJP. He said that Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Karan Mahara, former CM Harish Rawat, leader of opposition Yashpal Arya, deputy leader of Congress in state assembly Bhuwan Kapdi have plunged themselves in hectic campaigning in Champawat. The In charge of Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav too would camp in Champawat from 24 to 27 May in support of Congress candidate Gehtodi.
