The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana has claimed that Uttarakhand would bear the maximum brunt of the Agnipath scheme of the Modi government. He opined that the plan of the government to recruit youth for a period of only four years is a deception not only for the youngsters but also for the armed forces. Dhasmana said that the government has not given any guarantee as to what the youngster would do after retiring at an age of 21-22 years. “ Lakhs of youngsters who were preparing for recruitment in the army are now feeling cheated by this decision. Being a State where most of the youngsters dream of serving in armed forces, the Agnipath scheme is nothing less than a disaster,’’ he said.
