CM Dhami runs for Yoga

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Run for Yoga’ programme from Clock Tower to MKP Chowk organised on the eve of the International Day of Yoga on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was instrumental in ensuring worldwide recognition of Yoga. He said that today the entire world is celebrating the International Day of Yoga as a festival. Under PM’s leadership the patronage of the art, culture, religion and conservation of Indian values is taking place, he aded. Dhami said that the Asans of Yoga should be included in daily routine for a healthy mind and soul. He said that Yoga helps in connecting the body and breath with the mind and it keeps the body and mind healthy. Dhami said that his childhood memories became alive on viewing the cadets of NCC leading the run. He appealed that everyone should celebrate the International day for Yoga as a festival.
He said that Dehradun is one of the major cities of the country and we can give a positive message by keeping it clean. He said that everyone should connect to the ‘ Clean city, green city, this is my dream city’ drive and keep Dehradun clean and green. Terming sanitation as the work which should be done by public participation, Dhami said that we would develop the city by striking a balance between ecology and economy. Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, MLAs Khajan Das, Vinod Chamoli, Director General (DG) of police Ashok Kumar, Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey and others were present on the occasion.
