Expedite work on MGKY, computerisation of MPACSs: Purushottam

The department of Cooperatives has expedited the process of implementing the Mukhyamantri Ghasyari Kalyan Yojana (MGKY) and computerisation of all Multipurpose Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (MPACS) in the State.
The Cooperatives secretary BVRC Purushottam took a review meeting with the officers of the department at the office of the Integrated Cooperative Development Project on Monday. In the meeting he said that the Cooperatives minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed that the MGKY should be extended to all mountainous districts of the state and necessary preparations should be made to implement his declaration. Under the scheme, nutritious green fodder Silage is provided to the farmers and cattle owners through the cooperative committees. In the meeting the secretary directed the officers to ensure that the Silage is available in sufficient quantities.
On a stern note Purushottam told the officers that the process of computerisation of all MPACS should be done within the stipulated time. He said that the process of computerisation is needed to be expedited so that the committees become online. The secretary informed that 103 MPACS have become online on the occasion of completion of 100 days of Pushkar Singh Dhami government in the state. He added the work on computerisation of the MPACS is going on at a fast pace. The union cabinet had recently approved a sum of Rs 2516 Crores for computerisation of 63,000 MPACS in the country.
The secretary also took a review of the Goat valley villages on the day. He said that the goat villages would be set up ij the Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pauri and Rudraprayag districts. Every goat village would be spread in an area of one square kilometre and the villagers would be linked with the concept so that their income is augmented.
