Foundation stone laid for Technical Education directorate building in Srinagar

Uttarakhand Technical Education minister Subodh Uniyal laid down the foundation stone of the administrative building of the Technical Education directorate in the presence of Higher Education and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat in Srinagar on Thursday. The construction of the Technical Education directorate building will be completed in 18 months and the cost of the construction of the three-storey building will be about Rs 4.92 crore.
Uniyal instructed officials of the executing agency Peyjal Nigam to ensure the completion of the construction work within the set time limit. Facilities for sanitation, electricity, drinking water and other aspects should be of good standards in the building, he said. The minister claimed that the State government is doing better work in all sectors including education. He further said that 10,000 students are gaining education in 72 polytechnic institutions in Uttarakhand. Out of these six polytechnic colleges will be developed as model polytechnic institutions in Dehradun, Kashipur, Khatima, Nainital, Srinagar and Naredranagar. Uniyal further said that different courses will be introduced in polytechnic institutions so that the youth completing the course can be made capable of opting for self employment. Uniyal also announced Rs 20 lakh for the fencing of the polytechnic. Health minister Dhan Singh appealed to the public to go for the third dose of Covid vaccination which is being administered till September 30.
