Edu Minister Rawat launches Samarth e-Governance Portal

The higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat launched the Samarth e-Governance Portal of the Ministry of Education, Government of India in the auditorium of Doon University on Monday. He said during the launch that through this e-portal, the government can work online on 40 modules including 119 state colleges, 21 state aided colleges, five state universities and all the e-governance works of the Directorate of Higher Education such as educational management, finance and accounts, entrance examination and appointment process among others.
Rawat informed that the government will soon implement a teacher sharing format to improve the quality of higher education. An agreement will be signed with the state and private universities of the country under this format to ensure teachers can teach students anywhere through online or offline means.
He said that 200 assistant professors of science subjects of Uttarakhand would be sent for special training at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The principals of government colleges would also be given training at IIM Kashipur to learn better managerial skills, added Rawat. He also said that the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will be implemented in the state from this session, which will be launched by the Union Education Minister next month. The Vice Chancellor of Doon University Professor Surekha Dangwal said that the launch of Samarth Portal would turn out to be a success in giving a new dimension to higher education besides proving to be helpful in the effective implementation of NEP-2020.
