Authorities recover two bodies from Song river & Pashulok barrage

The authorities have recovered two bodies from Song river in Raiwala and from near Pashulok barrage in Rishikesh on Wednesday. The officials informed that the teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the sites after they received information that some locals noticed dead bodies in the said areas.
The officials said that the body found near Pashulok barrage was pulled out from the water with the help of a rope. They stated that the recovered body appeared to be about a month old but was not identified till late Wednesday evening by the police. The body recovered from the Song river in Raiwala was taken out with the help of the raft and is being kept in the mortuary by the district police to carry out necessary procedures, as per the officials.
They informed that the police asked the locals about the deceased but no one was able to identify the body. It is pertinent to mention here that a few people reportedly noticed three dead bodies in Doiwala and nearby areas last week but the police was able to recover only one dead body from Song river in the Chidderwala area. The police said that they would be able to comment on the cause of death of the victims only after completing the required procedures.
