Moving a step forward and confronting the situation resulting from allegations of questionable appointments to various posts in the Vidhan Sabha, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has written a letter to the Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri asking her to consider an impartial inquiry and quashing appointments found improper. In the letter, Dhami has stated that allegations of irregularities in appointments to some posts in the Vidhan Sabha are being reported in various media for some days. “The Vidhan Sabha is a respectable, autonomous constitutional institution and we are all responsible for maintaining its dignity,” he stated.

He further states that considering the dignity and purity of the Vidhan Sabha and the sentiments of the young candidates of Uttarakhand, it would be proper to consider ordering a high-level inquiry into the appointments which have given rise to the dispute. All appointments which are found dubious in the inquiry should be canceled. Dhami further said that provisions should be made to ensure impartial and transparent appointments in the Vidhan Sabha in the future. The CM stated, “The allegations of wrongdoings in appointments through the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission are being investigated in depth and steps are being taken for stringent action against the guilty. I request you to consider the above-mentioned points considering the controversy regarding the appointments in the Vidhan Sabha secretariat.”
