In latest news from Dehradun, a small part of road of the Lachhiwala-Bhaniyawala flyover over the Dehradun-Haridwar National Highway caved in, resulting in the emergence of a hole in that stretch. This is being attributed to heavy shower lashing the region. After potholes appeared on the stretch repairing work was done. Notably, a large number of vehicles move on this road daily. Locals said that the lower part of the road got weakened due to incessant, heavy rain. They also said that if the authority had not done the repairing work promptly a major mishap could have happened. As a precautionary measure, traffic movement was prohibited in some parts of the stretch. These parts were also barricaded so as to stop vehicles from passing through them.
