The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has stated that the arrest of the national convenor of AAP and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate is an unfortunate event which amounts to the murder of democracy.
AAP leader and former spokesman of the party Ravindra Anand said that Kejriwal is the first sitting CM of the country to have been arrested by the authorities. It is not hidden anymore that the BJP- led Central government is behind this incident to prevent the AAP head from campaigning scheduled to be held across the country for Lok Sabha elections.
Kejriwal had planned rallies across the country to strengthen Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA). This threatened the BJP and pushed it to get him arrested by the ED against the rules, Anand claimed. He stated that Kejriwal and his ideologies are supported by lakhs of people across the country and they will continue to protest outside BJP offices till he comes out of jail.
