The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday announced the dissolution of all of its units in Uttarakhand. The new appointments will be announced soon as per the official order from Delhi, said the AAP leader and party’s former spokesman of the Garhwal division Ravindra Anand. He said that the party has stated in its official letter that, “The Aam Aadmi Party hereby dissolves the present organisation of Uttarakhand state with immediate effect. We thank all office bearers for their contribution so far. New office bearers will be appointed soon.” The party also announced the same via a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
It is pertinent to mention here that this is the second time the party dissolved the State unit. The unit was dissolved for the first time after its poor performance in the Uttarakhand Assembly elections in 2022. It is being speculated that the party wants a strong presence in the State ahead of Lok Sabha elections and urban local bodies elections to increase its chances of a better performance.
