Friday, 06 October 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday protested against the union government in Dehradun for the arrest of the party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. The party leaders and workers reached Lansdowne Chowk in the afternoon under the leadership of the party’s State vice president RP Raturi and raised slogans and burnt the effigy of the BJP led government. He said that the government in the centre has shown its dictatorial face to the public by arresting Singh. He claimed that the senior AAP leaders are being targeted and arrested one by one by authorities on the directions of the government without any concrete proof against them. The party’s media in-charge of Garhwal division Ravindra Singh Anand also alleged that the BJP led government is using government agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for its political benefit by targeting AAP leaders in a planned manner ahead of Lok Sabha elections. He said that such a dictatorial attitude of the centre is putting the constitution and democracy of the country in danger. He said that this is the government’s fear ahead of the elections and the public will stand against this injustice together in the elections.
