The workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a protest at the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) on Saturday. The protesters were led by vice Uttarakhand president of AAP Uma Sisodia. The media in-charge of Garhwal region Ravindra Anand said that the party was planning to hold a gherao of the MCD on increasing cases of dengue and malaria in the city but their temper flared up when they found the office closed. Sisodia said that it is unfortunate that when the dengue and malaria cases are at their peak the MCD is observing a holiday. She said that instead of working in the emergency situation, the MCD is in a sleeping mode. Sisodia said that the Dehradun mayor should focus on the maintenance of the sanitation in the city and cleaning of the choked drains. The vice president of AAP RP Raturi alleged that the corporation is immersed in corruption. The AAP leaders said that the government would face the ire of the public if the situation is not improved.
