The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will gherao the office of the director general of Health against the department’s failure to curb dengue in the State, said the senior party leaders in a Press conference here on Tuesday.
The party leader Uma Sisodia said that due to the failure of authorities like the State government, Health department and municipal corporations, locals are suffering and are forced to make numerous visits to hospitals and blood banks. She claimed that despite the outbreak of dengue in Dehradun for the past several weeks, no concrete steps are being taken by the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) and Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ against the disease.
She alleged that dengue and a kind of mysterious fever have been spreading across the State but no cognisance is being taken by the Health department and other authorities concerned. She said that the AAP leaders will meet the Health DG on Wednesday to give him a memorandum regarding the dengue menace in the State. Besides this, they will also try to meet the governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh soon with their issues regarding the dengue outbreak, added Sisodia.
