With the portals of Badrinath Dham set to open for devotees on May 12 after six months’ winter closure, the Chamoli district administration, assisted by the departments related to the pilgrimage, is now busy with the final phase of preparations. The work to improve the road condition is now going on in full swing to make the pilgrimage route smooth and safe. Besides, the administration is keeping an eye on important facilities like electricity and water supply and to keep the supply uninterrupted during the period of pilgrimage.

Importantly, to make the darshan smoother and faster, an Aastha Path has been built from Saket Tiraha.   Nagar Panchayat has also started a cleanliness drive around the shrine.

Speaking on the preparations, a senior district administration officer said that all the departments- tasked with specific works by the district magistrate Himanshu Khurana- are presently working in tandem to complete things well before the commencement of the pilgrimage.
