Religious fraternity members seek steps to protect Akhada properties from land mafia
Members of the religious fraternity have strongly objected to the objectionable depiction of the goddess in the Kaali film poster. At a meeting held here on Wednesday, members of the religious fraternity sought strict action in the case. The Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP) president Mahant Ravindra Puri also demanded that the documentary film should be banned in India.
Puri said that he had seen a picture of the controversial poster in which a woman dressed as goddess Kali is shown smoking a cigarette. He said that this is an insult to the deities and that the government should take strict action in this case. Stating that some people are promoting communalism to create disturbance, he said that laws should be strongly implemented so that such things can be stopped.
Jairam Ashram president Brahmaswaroop Brahmachari said that members of the religious fraternity also expressed concern at the threat of Akhada lands being illegally occupied and discussed the security of members of the religious fraternity. The land mafia keeps an eye on the huge properties of Akhadas. It has been seen on various occasions that some properties of the Akhadas are illegally occupied by the land mafia and some members of the religious fraternity have also been killed over properties. Now a proposal has been brought by the Akhadas to stop this and at the same time it has been demanded from the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country that some concrete steps should be taken to stop illegal possession of the property of the Akhadas.
