Chief minister  Pushkar Singh Dhami said that abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir sent a positive message to the entire nation along with a crisp response to those parties which were saying that this step would not make any difference. The atmosphere created as a result of this step ensured the peaceful conclusion of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said.  Dhami said this while attending the second and final day of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s State working committee meeting on Monday.

Responding to media persons, the CM said that the suggestions received after review of the Central and State government schemes in the meeting will be implemented by the administration. Expressing satisfaction at the governmental efforts to address the land subsidence disaster in Joshimath, he assured that better rehabilitation will be ensured after the final report of experts is received. He said that on the one hand Congress leaders gave suggestions to the State government regarding the Joshimath disaster and on the other hand they exploited the issue in their political rally to damage the image of Uttarakhand.

The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that in the party meeting, the government was thanked for Central and State governments’ developmental and public welfare measures especially the women’s reservation bill and a stricter law to check forced religious conversion. The working committee has also assured the central leadership of the party that the BJP will achieve resounding victories in the coming local body and Lok Sabha elections. He said that various issues were discussed in detail during various sessions in the meeting. It was decided that all party office bearers till the booth level will have to mandatorily participate in the Mann Ki Baat programme. The programme will be held with a minimum 100 people in 100 booths of every Vidhan Sabha constituency. Further, a four-member team of the State has been formed to ensure that the Central and State government budget reaches the general public. Another State level committee has been formed for inclusion of the local culture, spirituality and traditions to make the G20 events grand in Uttarakhand. Bhatt said that the working committee has also expressed concern at some persons following the communist ideology but lacking any considerable public support in the State, allegedly trying to instigate the local people against projects which are needed for national development and are of strategic importance.

The party’s State in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam directed all the office bearers in the meeting to disseminate the political proposals of the meeting and the party’s programmes among the masses.
