The tourists arriving in the famous winter sports destination, Auli in Chamoli district are getting disappointed as the area is completely devoid of snow these days. Usually a thick cover of snow used to cover the beautiful landscape of Auli during the month of December but this year the snow is conspicuous by its absence in the area and the surrounding hills.
Large number of tourists arrive in Auli during the winter vacations to celebrate Christmas and New Year. A businessman associated with the tourism industry Sanjay Sati said that absence of snow is having a bearing on the business this year as less number of tourists have so far arrived in Auli. The people associated with the tourism sector hope that the snowfall would occur in the next few days and it would bring back cheers on the faces of everyone here.
