Objects to facilities in cremation ground statement of Banshidhar Bhagat
The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said that the ministers should refrain from making insensitive comments during the present period of crisis.
Terming the recent statement of cabinet minister and former State president of BJP, Banshidhar Bhagat in which he talked about equipping the cremation grounds with basic facilities as wayward and insensitive. He said that it is surprising that at a time when the health system has derailed completely and the destruction is visible everywhere a leader of stature of Bhagat is giving such insensitive statements. He said that it would have been better had the minister expressed concern on availability of oxygen cylinders, ICU beds and ventilators.
The PCC chief added that during this period emphasis should be on saving the lives of people rather than talking about providing basic facilities in the crematoria. He said that the statement of Bhagat reveals the focus of the Minister. Singh also questioned recent inaugurations done by chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat and said that focus should be one saving the lives of people.
