The students of the residential educational institute Acharyakulam in Haridwar were felicitated by the Patanjali Shastra Smaran Samiti on Saturday for their remarkable performance at the Shastra Smaran competition held on December 5 and 6. The competition involved a slew of revered Shastras, including Gita, Ken Upanishad, Mandukya Upanishad and Yoga Darshan. In the competition on Gita, six participants clinched the first spot and the rest the second spot while one of them secured 10 out 10 marks. Those who stood first and those who stood second were awarded Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,500 respectively.
Lauding the deep interest being shown by the students in the religious scriptures, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said that Acharyakulam is the only institute in the country to have such students.
Among those who congratulated the students on their feats were the vice-chairperson of Acharyakulam Ritambhara Shastri and the principal Swati Munshi.
