The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said that the state government should order investigation into the allegation of the Rs 400 Crore scam in the Building and other construction workers welfare board. He was addressing the media persons on the first day of his four day Garhwal tour in Kotdwar on Monday. Singh said that the allegations by those in power have levelled allegations against cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat who also is a MLA from Kotdwar. The PCC chief added that the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) had directed that CBI investigation should be done in a case of corruption involving chief minister (CM) Trivendra Singh Rawat but the government is not acting on the order. The Congress leader said that the people of the state reeling under the effects of the pandemic of Covid-19 are made to suffer further by steep increase in prices of essential commodities. He said that the union government had promised to double the income of the farmers and instead of acting on it the government has passed draconian farm laws from parliament that would hit the farmers hard. The PCC president raised the issue of agitation of teerth purohits and rising unemployment in the state on the occasion and attacked the state government for proving to be a failure on every front. On Tuesday, the PCC president would participate in a protest meeting organised by the party workers in Pauri and would meet the party workers at Srinagar.
