The Centre is tightening its noose around the drug manufacturing companies which have allegedly been making spurious and bad quality medicines. The drug controller Tajber Singh Jaggi informed that during joint raids made by Drug Standard Control Organisation and the state drug control department, tests were made into the quality of the drugs being manufactured by 46 pharma companies. During tests, drugs manufactured by six companies in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Roorkee were found below the standard. Consequently, their production licenses were cancelled. However, these companies have appealed against the order.
