Noted actor Mohan Babu met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM’s residence here on Monday. The Telugu cinema actor was in Uttarakhand on a pilgrimage to Kedarnath. During his interaction with Dhami, the thespian appreciated the CM for the efforts being undertaken by the government to encourage film production and cinema in Uttarakhand. Stating that Uttarakhand’s film policy is an attempt to boost movies, Babu said that the natural beauty of the State is ideal for shooting films.
The CM said that provisions have been made under the film policy to provide necessary assistance and facilities to filmmakers in the State. The government is also attempting to popularise the tourist spots of the State across the nation and abroad through the film policy. Apart from popularising the unique and picturesque locations in the State, increased activity in the film and cinema sector will also boost employment opportunities for the locals while also providing an opportunity for the talented youth to make their skills known.
Information director general and Uttarakhand Film Development Council chief executive officer Banshidhar Tiwari was also present on the occasion.
