In latest Dehradun news, Pallav Divyang Development Trust organised a programme at the Multi-Sports Arena in Nawada Dehradun for the children and adults with Down syndrome. The actor Priyanshu Painyuli, who is known for his role in the OTT series ‘Mirzapur’, was present at the event. Notably, Pallav Divyang Development Trust is an initiative led by Priyanshu’s father, Retired Col V K Painyuli and his family. Founded in Dehradun, it aims at creating awareness and providing support to the children and adults with Down syndrome and special needs. The programme provided a platform for children and adults with special needs to participate in games and other activities.
Sharing his sentiment, Priyanshu said that the initiative had been inspired by his brother Pallav Painyuli, who, while growing up in Bengaluru as a Down syndrome kid, had learnt many skills which helped him lead a confident life. “I have seen many adults with special needs like Pallav who can achieve great heights if they are provided with proper skill sets. We aim to help individuals with special needs and their families in Dehradun to bring a change in their life,” he said.
Retired Col V K Painyuli, the founder of the organisation, said that their mission is to create a society where everyone is supported, regardless of their disabilities.
