Actress Janhvi Kapoor offered prayers at the Ma Naina Devi Mandir here on Sunday, the first day of Shardiya Navratri. Currently in Nainital for the shooting of her upcoming film, Kapoor reportedly offered prayers for the prosperity of Nainital, Uttarakhand and the country.
The actress arrived at the temple parking lot around 1:45 pm wearing traditional yellow attire. From there, she walked barefoot to the main temple complex, accompanied by a security team. The temple priest Bhuwan Kandpal performed the prayers. She then offered water to the Shivalinga installed in the temple complex. Devotees and locals at the temple were excited to see the actress among them. Kapoor acknowledged their greetings with folded hands.
She also visited the office of the Shri Maa Naina Devi Temple Amar Uday Trust and gathered information about the temple. The trust’s administrative officer Suresh Melkani, welcomed her and then presented her a photo and a scarf of the goddess.
After paying obeisance at the temple, the actress was seen admiring the natural beauty of Naini lake and the surrounding area. She praised the beauty of Nainital’s valleys, the lake and the weather. She had felt a special sense of peace after visiting the temple of the goddess, Kapoor added.
Meanwhile, the actress continued her fitness routine despite being busy filming. She visited a local gym in Mallital for a workout. As soon as word spread about the actress’ presence, fans and local youth began gathering there. Fans also used the opportunity to take photos with her.
