The Dehradun district administration is gearing up to file an FIR against 41 government employees for their reluctance to discharge their election duty in polling stations. The Dehradun chief development officer (CDO) and nodal officer of Lok Sabha elections in the district Jharna Kamthan on Friday ordered to issue notices to these 41 employees who failed to attend training programmes necessary to effectively discharge their responsibilities during the elections. She said that various government employees have been assigned to carry out duties related to conducting voting at various polling stations as presiding officers and polling officers.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) organises training programmes to provide necessary training to ensure officers discharge their duties properly as per the rules. Some employees did not take the election and associated training programmes seriously and remained absent.
Considering this, the administration will issue a notice to them seeking a proper explanation for their absence. If they fail to give a satisfactory explanation, the administration will file an FIR against them as per the rules. Kamthan directed all the personnel to perform their duties with full sincerity in the Lok Sabha elections or strict action will be taken against them as per the rules.
