Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan to attend ceremony to start implementation later this month
After becoming the first State in the country to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Uttarakhand would soon put the policy in execution in the higher education sector as well. On Friday the State’s Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat invited Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to attend the programme the department of Higher education would organise in this month to implement the NEP-2020 in Dehradun. Pradhan accepted this invitation.
The invitation was extended by Rawat when he met Pradhan during his New Delhi visit on Friday. In the meeting the duo discussed many issues including NEP-2020 and PM Shree scheme. Rawat said that Uttarakhand has become the first State in the country to implement the NEP-2020 in the school education sector and it is being appreciated by everyone. He said that the higher education department of the State has also made all preparations to implement the NEP-2020 in all universities and colleges at undergraduate level. He said that the union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has accepted his invitation to attend a ceremony for implementation of NEP-2020 as chief guest. Rawat said that the PM- Shree scheme under which 14,500 schools across the country would be made world class would be held in changing the face of the schools in the backward areas of the country and would provide better education to the students. In the meeting Rawat apprised the union education minister the progress in construction of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Sumadi, Sringar and discussed the demands of the employees of the HNB Garhwal central university. He also requested Pradhan to release the remaining amount of the sanctioned budget under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) on which the union minister assured that the pending budget would be released soon. He also asked Rawat that the State should send the DPR of the construction works under the RUSA phase III.
The advisor of RUSA , MSM Rawat, K D Purohit and nodal officer of RUSA A S Uniyal were present on the occasion.
