After wreaking havoc in Guj, Biparjoy cyclonic storm heading towards Rajasthan

After wreaking havoc across Gujarat, the extremely severe Biparjoy cyclonic storm is now entering Rajasthan. Taking note of this, red alert has been issued in five districts. Its devastating impact was felt particularly across the Kutch and Saurashtra regions of Gujarat covering eight districts. Innumerable trees were uprooted and power lines were snapped. As per the latest news received, two persons were killed in Bhavnagar and more than 22 people sustained injuries.
It is still raining torrentially in several areas of Gujarat, including Mandvi, Nalia, Narayan Sarovar and Gandhi Dham. Several hours after the landfall, gusty winds with the speed of 90/125kmph have been blowing over a large part of the State. Meanwhile Kutch has received 2-7 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. According to the Met officers watching the progress of the cyclonic storm, it is now heading towards north-south Rajasthan.
