Tourism department officer on special duty Bhaskar Khulbe and Tourism secretary Savin Kurve visited Badrinath on Monday and inspected the works being undertaken as part of the Badrinath master plan. They directed the executing agency to expedite the master plan works in mission mode.
Expressing satisfaction at the reconstruction and beautification works in Badrinath, Khulbe appreciated the manner in which the pace at which the work is being carried forward despite the cold weather. He pointed out that in the current season there is a period of about two months left during which the work can be continued.
The OSD also directed the officials of the executing agency to increase the number of labourers while stressing on the need to expedite the works. He inspected in detail the work being undertaken on the Shesh Netra and Badrish lakes, arrival plaza, the bus station, riverfront development and hospital expansion. After inspecting the various works, Khulbe and Kurve paid obeisance to Lord Badrinath in the temple. The Kedarnath Utthan Charitable Trust OSD Satish Bahuguna also accompanied the officials during the inspection of the master plan works.
It will be recalled that the government is working to develop Badrinath into a smart spiritual township as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
