Aggarwal to continue as MS of GDMC hospital till new appointment

To ensure that the operations of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) remain unaffected, the medical superintendent Dr Anurag Aggarwal, who had earlier submitted his resignation letter to the principal Dr Geeta Jain, citing the clinical burden and other issues, will continue until the appointment of the new MS. Notably, Dr Aggarwal served in this post for the past three years and this left the management of the State-run medical facility worried over whether the void would affect its normal functions.
Allaying any such apprehension, Jain said that though he had resigned as the MS the hospital’s normal functioning would remain unaffected due to the arrangements they have made. “Aggarwal will continue to work as MS till the new MS is appointed. The appointment process has started. Applications for the post have been solicited. We have also asked the doctors working here to volunteer. They should write to us and we will consider it. We hope to appoint the new MS soon and until then Aggarwal will continue to provide services as before,” she added.
It may be recalled that Dr Dhananjay Dobhal, the deputy medical superintendent at GDMC, recently resigned following which Dr N S Bisht assumed the charge.
