PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

A day after resigning from his ministerial post, Rishikesh MLA Prem Chand Aggarwal visited his constituency Rishikesh on Monday and met his supporters after leaving his official residence in Dehradun. Many senior citizens and youths present at the gathering appeared emotional while interacting with Aggarwal. He also urged everyone to maintain harmony and refrain from any protests or demonstrations.

During the gathering, supporters expressed their commitment to stand with Aggarwal and pledged to ensure a bigger victory in the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections. His supporters also claimed that a misleading narrative had been created against him, leading to his resignation. They stated that having a minister from Rishikesh was a matter of pride and that significant development was taking place in the region. They alleged that a certain group had created an atmosphere that resulted in Aggarwal stepping down.

Aggarwal talked about his role during the formation of Uttarakhand with his supporters and stated that his words had been misrepresented on social media. He said that his focus will now be on social service and the development of Uttarakhand. He urged people to maintain peace, avoid inappropriate behaviour and refrain from making objectionable comments on social media. He also appealed to everyone not to engage in actions that could disrupt law and order in the State.
