In a step towards ensuring quality healthcare to armed forces veterans and their dependents, the Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Care Scheme (ECHS) has entered into an agreement with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh. Under the agreement cashless and cap less treatment will be provided to the veterans and their dependents.
The agreement was signed by the general officer commanding, Uttarakhand sub area (UKSA) Major General R Prem Raj and executive director of AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr Meenu Singh on Saturday.
The agreement will benefit more than 4.75 lakh ex-servicemen and their dependents residing in Uttarakhand State, particularly those living in remote mountainous areas. Under the agreement AIIMS Rishikesh, known for its high class medical infrastructure and highly qualified specialists, will now provide comprehensive healthcare to veterans under the ECHS framework.
“Empanelment of AIIMS, Rishikesh under ECHS is part of the ongoing efforts to expand healthcare access for armed forces veterans, ensuring that they receive world-class medical treatment with ease and dignity. This initiative not only bridges the gap between premier healthcare institutions and veterans welfare but also reaffirms the unwavering commitment of the armed forces towards the well-being of its retired personnel,’’ a communique from the Army said.
