Agriculture & animal husbandry key for development of U’khand: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Aditynath arrived at his native village Panchur in Pauri district on a personal visit on Thursday. 

In his visit, Yogi offered floral tributes at the statue of Mahant Ayaidhyanath at Guru Gorakhnath government college Bithyani. He also unfurled 100 feet high national flag at Anand Singh Bisht memorial park in the college and inaugurated two day Kisan Mela.

In his address, the UP CM said that Uttarakhand has a vast potential in the sectors of dairy and animal husbandry. He said that GB Pant University of agriculture and technology has played a major role in providing food security to the country. The UP said that the government is providing free ration to more than 80 crore people of the country from the last five years.

 He said that self-reliance can be achieved by better use of local resources and giving encouragement to agriculture and animal husbandry. This can help in preventing migration from the mountainous areas of the State.

 He said that in the two day fair, goats and poultry will be distributed among farmers. Terming Uttarakhand as jewel in the crown of the country, Yogi said that the State is strategically important. He exhorted the people to work in the direction of making Uttarakhand free from drug abuse and making the State best in the country.

In the programme the UP CM distributed cheques of different welfare schemes to beneficiaries. He also inspected the stall of the GBPUAT in the Kisan Mela. 

Cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj, Dhan Singh Rawat, Yamkeshwar MLA Renu Bisht, vice chancellor of GB Pant University Manmohan Singh Chauhan, director national research centre Karnal Dhir Singh, joint director higher education A K Uniyal, secretarty Bipin Rawat war memorial organisation Manjeet Negi, chief development officer of Pauri Girish Gunwant, Principal government college Bithyani Yogesh Kumar Sharma and others attended the programme.
