Ahead of the probable visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kedarnath and Badrinath, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Kedarnath shrine on Tuesday. He offered prayers at the shrine and met the ascetics and pilgrims there. Dhami also inspected the reconstruction activities going on in Kedarnath and gave necessary directions to the officers. He directed the officers that every possible facility to the pilgrims should be provided and said that all the construction works should be completed within the stipulated time frame. The CM interacted with the pilgrims and asked about their suggestions and experiences.
The CM directed the district magistrate of Rudraprayag Mayur Dixit to ensure that proper arrangements for the stay of 15,000-20,000 pilgrims per day are made in Kedarnath. The CM said that every possible effort is being undertaken by the State government for providing facilities to the pilgrims so that they carry a good impression of the Devbhoomi in the world.
Dhami said that a grand and majestic Kedarpuri is being constructed as per the directions of PM Modi. He said that a work plan for developing the nearby areas of Kedarnath as centres of spiritual tourism is underway. He added that many works for increasing facilities for tourists are being taken up in Kedarnath and the Gaurikund- Kedarnath bridle path.
The chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Ajendra Ajay, senior Teerth Purohit Srinivas Posti and others accompanied the CM during his visit to Kedarnath.
It is pertinent to mention here that PM Modi is expected to visit Badrinath and Kedarnath before Deepawali later this month. However, sources state that his plan has not been finalised yet.
