AICC’S fact -finding committee to discuss Congress debacle in LS polls

The two member fact finding committee constituted by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to analyse the defeat of Congress party in all the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand will arrive in Dehradun on Thursday. The members of the committee, senior leaders PL Poonia and Rajini Patil will hold deliberations with the Congress leaders and officials of the State on July 18, 19 and 20.
The State vice president (organization) Mathura Dutt Joshi said that the members of the fact finding committee will hold Lok Sabha wise review meetings with the party leaders and workers.
He said that on July 18, the committee will hold a review of Almora-Pithoragarh parliamentary constituency in the morning session while the review of Nainital parliamentary constituency will be held in afternoon session.
Joshi said that review of the Garhwal and Tehri Lok Sabha will be held on July 19 and the review of the Haridwar constituency will be on July 20.
The members of the fact finding committee will meet with former MPs, MP candidates, MLAs and former MLAs in the review sessions. They will also hold discussions and take feedback from the members of AICC, PCC, district and block committees during the visit.
Joshi added that after meeting with senior party leaders on July 20, the committee will hold a meeting with the presidents of frontal organizations, departments and cells.
In Uttarakhand the Congress party faced a third consecutive defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The Congress party has lost all the five seats in the State in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, 2019 and 2024. After holding discussions with senior leaders and various functionaries the committee will submit its report to the party president.
