A curtain raiser programme for the upcoming Y-20 summit was organised at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Thursday. The Y-20 summit would be held in the month of May and is a part of the awareness for the G-20 summit being hosted by India this year.
AIIMS Rishikesh is one of the three medical colleges in the country which have been selected for this important summit.
The executive director of AIIMS, Dr Meenu Singh said that this summit aims to prepare our youth for global challenges and to increase their capacity for active participation to shape their future in a better way. She informed that Y-20 will be organized in Rishikesh on May 4 and 5. Dr Singh said that through this event, youth will be prepared to spread awareness about the G-20 summit and discuss current global issues.
The dean of academics, Dr Jaya Chaturvedi expressed hope that this programme will provide a new direction to the youth. Presenting the foreword of the summit, Dr Vandana Dhingra said that AIIMS Rishikesh will organise various programmes under the U-20 event.
