The trauma department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh has started a special helpline for the trauma victims. The helpline would also provide information about the availability of beds in the trauma ward of the institute. The trauma surgeon AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr Madhur Uniyal said that the helpline number 18001804278 would work round the clock. “It is the endeavour of the department that all the necessary information related to treatment should be made available on time to every person calling in an emergency,’’ he said.
Dr Uniyal added that through this service necessary medical related information of the patient can be obtained during treatment and even after treatment. “Apart from this, the date of surgery of the patient in the trauma department, OPD-related information, and availability of beds in the department’s ward will also be told from this number. So that the person calling from far and wide does not have to worry unnecessarily about the necessary information related to the trauma department of AIIMS,’’ he informed.
The AIIMS Rishikesh has a specialized trauma department with modern medical facilities for the treatment of patients with various calamities and road accidents besides other trauma-related emergencies.
